Gary is a Chartered Town Planner and a member of the Chartered Institute of Housing. He is a PLC Board Director at Churchill Living and is primarily responsible for the strategic direction of the company’s land, design, and planning activities. He has a wealth of experience in the retirement housing sector. Prior to joining Churchill in May 2021, Gary spent over 32 years at McCarthy Stone, the last 20 of which as Executive Land & Planning Director. He currently chairs Churchill’s Group Investment Committee and ESG Committee. Over the years Gary has taken an active role in seeking to promote better housing and planning policies for the UK’s ageing population, at both central and local government levels. He has presented evidence at a range of government inquiries and sat on numerous government and trade expert groups in England, Scotland, and Wales. Gary is currently an Officer of the Retirement Housing Group, the UK’s leading organisation representing the whole of the retirement housing sector.
